Blizzard and Tecnica strengthen their Worldcup team with two top-class additions. The Italian slalom specialist and routinier Christian Deville and the Austrian speed driver Florian Scheiber will line up at the start line this coming season wearing the material of ski specialist Blizzard from Mittersill and the Italian ski boot brand Tecnica. Otmar Striedinger will extend his contract with both brands.

New start for Deville

„Christian immediately felt comfortable with the new material and will attack among the top players of the Worldcup again this year“ Bernhard Knauss, racing chief of Blizzard/Tecnica says happily. The Italian is a team addition with a lot of experience. At the age of 33, Deville wants to forge ahead with new strength and continue his success series from 2011 and 2012. In both seasons he made it to the podium four times. His greatest success was winning the slalom in Kitzbühel in January 2012.

Deville draws energy and motivation for the coming seasons from the good results in the recent FIS races, and is confident that the return to the Worldcup top will be possible together with Blizzard and Tecnica.

Tyrolean speed driver strengthens the team

Along with the new addition from Italy, Florian Scheiber from Tyrolia is new in the team. The winner of the overall ranking and discipline ranking in the Super-G European Cup 2011/2012 focuses on the speed disciplines. He demonstrated his Worldcup potential already with a Top 10 placement for downhill in Beaver Creek (2012). „We are very glad that we gained another fast racer for the team, so that we can advance our development also in the speed disciplines,“ Knauss explains.

Otmar Striedinger renews contract

The past season showed that young Otmar „Oti“ Striedinger from Carinthia is on the right track. Already with his second place at the Super-G in Beaver Creek in December of 2013 it was clear that he would be a force to be reckoned with that season. Sixth place in Kitzbühel and a strong fifth in Sotschi speak for itself. „Oti has undergone a strong development and has the potential of being among the very front in the future. We are glad that we can continue working with him,“ says Knauss. Both sides hope for further successes in the Worldcup with the extension of the contract.
