Blizzard and Tecnica – a Strong Partnership With Disabled Sports

Gerd Schönfelder is market embassador for the ski and ski boot experts. Young talent is being developed.

With the addition of Gerd Schönfelder, Blizzard and Tecnica have a true icon of the disabled racing world in their team this year. 22 Paralympic medals – 16 of them Gold – make the “Bull from Kulmain” the most successful athlete in the history of the Paralympics. His exceptional career came to a close by being awarded the titles “Disabled Athlete of the Year 2011” and “World’s Disabled Athlete 2011.” “I’m excited about winning these excellent awards. With Blizzard and Tecnica I’d like to use them to bring more attention to disabled sports in the future,” said Schönfelder.

He is currently working closely together with both experienced athletes and young new talent at the traditional firm in Mittersill. Anna Schaffelhuber, who won the award “Disabled Athlete of the Year 2011” along with  Schönfelder can also look back on great successes. With numerous Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at the World Championships in Sestrière and the Paralympics in Vancouver, she is an essential part of the team. “I’m excited to have such an engaged and strong sponsor in Blizzard. I’m going to give everything next season to continue my success, said the highly-motivated 19-year-old.

Together with her teammates Andrea Rothfuss, Thomas Nolte, Dietmar Dorn and Andreas Kapfinger, they will continue to compete among the world‘s elite this season.
