A new international racing team underlines Blizzard & Tecnica involvement in alpine ski racing in all disciplines. Romed Baumann starts as a prominent, top-class all-rounder for both brands.

For the season 2012/13, the two traditional Austro-Italian alpine brands demonstrate their racing engagement with significant additions. Romed Baumann races in the coming season in all World Cup disciplines for Blizzard & Tecnica.

The Austrian Romed Baumann convinced last winter with three podium finishes, including a victory in the super combined in Chamonix. "We are proud of such a talented and versatile athletes as Romed and welcome him in our team.
In the long term, our goal is to regain a leading role in all World Cup disciplines. This fact is also confirmed throughout our strong commitment to product development, "says Bernhard Knauss, racing manager Blizzard.

Baumann is also very enthusiastic about the new partnership: "The tests for Blizzard and Tecnica were very, very good. I am sure that my successfull path will be continued with the entire team of Blizzard & Tecnica. "

 

International focus with Susanne Riesch and Krystof Kryzl
Besides Baumann other powerful newcomers could be committed in the international team. The German Susanne Riesch will start after a lengthy injury lay-off in both the technical and in the speed disciplines with Blizzard / Tecnica.

"Susanne has a lot of potential and the first tests have been impressive. We hope that she can come back as quickly as possible to her good form that she had before the injury break. For the 12/13 season she must be seriously considered, says Knauss. Besides Riesch and Baumann Krystof Kryzl is new to the team. The 25-year-old Czech is preparing on his new material for the World Cup slalom, giant slalom and super combined. With three national championships in 2012, he is one of the most promising members of the Czech squad and has the potential to convince in the World Cup scene.

A stronger future engagement in Italy is another focus at Blizzard and Tecnica. As a first step the group aquired with Florian Eisath an Italian World Cup-bearer. After the takeover in 2006 by Blizzard by Tecnica Group was started to establish in Italy a strong professional young team.

 

Junior international-level
Strong young racers for the World Cup and European Cup stand with JUNIOR SL WORLD CHAMPION Santeri Paloniemi (FIN, slalom, giant slalom) Otmar Striedinger (AUT, Super G, downhill), and Andrea Zemanova (CZE, slalom, giant slalom, super G) ready.

 

Mario Matt remains constantly in the Bilzzard & Tecnica racing team
In addition to that, Tecnica and Blizzard still build on the experienced worlds class Austrian athlete Mario Matt. The former World Champion and World Cup winner could take out three podium places in the last season and is extremely motivated for the upcoming season. "We can especially benefit from his experience. His current form, as well as the successes of last season show, that with Mario we have one of the best slalom riders in the world in our team, "said Knauss.

"We are very happy about this positive development, especially in an overall difficult situation of the entire ski industry.
In recent years we have placed a strong focus on the slalom and achieved, in particular with two exeptional Austrian athletes sensational success. Now we go one step further and want to attack in all disciplines. We know that we have the expertise and outstanding know-how to send a powerful international team with the optimum material into the coming season, "said Stefano Abram, brand manager in charge Blizzard & Tecnica.
